Bar.R keeps a low profile on the internet as far as I can tell but seems very much your old style (which is a good thing) Ginza bar with a wide selection of whiskeys and very polite staff. Goss, Ginza

Goss is a small but sophisticted littel Wine bar in Ginza where you pay by card and then use the card to select the drinks from a carefully preserved wine keeper. Quite a good system, but the bar itself isnt built for comfort with rather too stylish and high chairs. 　The own web site is here.

Bar Orchard

Didn't actually get round to staying and having a drink in Bar Orchard but looked quite promising, if expensive, bar in Ginza for an intimate drink. Tel 03 3575 0333.

Le cafe Berthollet

An excellent French restaurant with a very good value lunch. Very suitable for taking female friends in the evening as well. Also a good location close to Aoyama crossing. Also has a group restaurant in the Shin Marunouchi building that looks good - Le Remois.

Pizzeria and Bar Blue Pearl

Looks more like a lunch place, cafe than an evening venue but well above average for lunch and a very decent price. Small but the sort of place where the owner takes a lot of pride in and is capable of more than the relatively small size implies. On the road down from Bikkuri Sushi in Ebisu that is pretty full of restaurants.

ぐいや

My favorite Izaka in Tokyo on the left if you take the narrow road that is first past azabu crossing on the left when you go towards Shibiya (Almond is pretty much on the corner I think). Good value, a decent cut above the average place for quality unpretentious inside and decent value in a very good and convenient location.
